United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women (UMW) is a group of women organized for mission. We are women like you . . . women of diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds; employed, not employed; homemakers; businesswomen; single, married, divorced, young, middle-aged, and older women. We are women committed to mission. The giving of the United Methodist Women touches the lives of many persons around the world.
We invite you to be a member of United Methodist Women of Vancouver First. No matter who you are or where you are in your life at this moment, joining this group of committed women is a unique opportunity to move in harmony with other women who have been responding to God’s work. We have several fundraisers during the year to support our mission pledge and local needs.
Our unit consists of three circles and the Executive Board. Each circle meets once a month (see below for meeting times). Contact the church office for locations or additional meeting information.
You can read more about the UMW on the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries website.

Each year at Christmas, we gather all the baby quilts that we have made over the year. These quilts are displayed at church and blessed. This usually is done on the first Sunday of Advent. We also pray for the young people who will be receiving these quilts. We in turn are blessed as we hear their stories and learn the impact these quilts make in their lives. In the past, we have given out approximately 70 quilts a year to the Evergreen Grad program, Hudson’s Bay Teen Program, Vida’s Ark, Open House Ministries, and Share House. Our baby quilt outreach is open to anyone who would like to sew the kits we have put together.
