school students, nursing students, students pursuing a career in the medical profession, and for seminary education. Applications are due by April 1st or 30th – check details below.
FUMC Scholarship: These scholarships are for graduating high school seniors planning to study full time at any accredited 2- or 4-year college, university, vocational, or technical school. Applications are open to current Vancouver First United Methodist Church members and children, grandchildren, and children under guardianship of members.

Vancouver Methodist Foundation: These scholarships are for Clark County high school graduates pursuing further education at any accredited 2- or 4-year college, university, vocational, or technical school. No church affiliation is required. The application form is available at all of the high school Counseling Centers, at vanmethodistfoundation@gmail.com, and on the FUMC website.

The Foundation offers a Charles Anderson Scholarship through the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. One applicant will be chosen to receive the Charles Anderson Scholarship. Other applicants will be considered for a Continuing College Scholarship
that is funded by the Vancouver Methodist Foundation. Eligible recipients must be a member or the child of member of FUMC, have a
minimum GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school. Applications are available via

Nursing and medical scholarships are offered for students in Clark College’s nursing program and WSU Vancouver medical program.

The Board of Trustees typically accepts applications for the following scholarships every April (stay tuned for 2023):
Applications are open to Vancouver First United Methodist Church members and children, adopted children, grandchildren, and children under guardianship of members. Students who are not members or related to members but have a documented relationship to the church (regular participation in youth activities, for example) may also be considered for a Trustees Scholarship.
Send completed applications, with scanned transcript and one page activity description, to Valerie Estep at office@vanfumc.org. Or, mail them to the church office. Applications are due by April 1st!
